Saluting Those Who Keep the World Moving

People of the world are engaging in celebrating Christmas and new year 🎊 but do we think that this celebration is relevant for all of us? Do we think that everybody is enjoying the new year ? I don’t think so because not everybody is capable of celebrating the festivals.
For instance – Do you ever see any laborers who work on daily wages have time to celebrate any festivals . If they don’t earn regularly his / her family have to sleep with empty stomach.
Our Indian army and Border security forces who sacrifice their life , happiness, family to protect our country and the citizens of the country. It doesn’t matter how challenging and adverse climates ,  it is extremely cold or extremely hot they do their duties properly without any complaints.
In today’s article let’s talk about our real heroes like them to know and connect ourselves with them so that they also feel happy because we believe in वासुदेव कुटुंबकम

Indian Laborers

India’s hard-working laborers form the backbone of the nation’s economy and development. From agricultural workers to construction laborers, factory employees, and artisans, their contributions are integral to sustaining the country’s progress. Here’s a brief overview:

1. Agricultural Laborers

In class 6 I studied that Agriculture is the backbone of our country. Without farmers our life that we sustain today is somehow impossible. They work in fields, sowing, harvesting, and maintaining crops.
Over half of India’s population depends on agriculture, making these laborers vital to the country’s food security.

2. Daily wages Workers

Every morning if you go outside you will see in large numbers people gather at the chowk and wait for some one who will hire them to work under them , those people are daily wages workers. They work in daily wages and by their earnings their family survives.  They engage in building roads, bridges, buildings, and infrastructure.

Their work is not easy at all , they often work in harsh conditions with limited safety measures, earning daily wages. No matter about the temperature they work in harsh hot weathers and extreme cold weather without any complaints. I have also seen many ladies who are pregnant but still working just to provide two time  meal a day  to her children and family.

3. Factory Workers
Factory workers have fixed jobs with fixed salary but their working times vary according to work demands. They work in manufacturing units producing textiles, steel, electronics, and more. Many face long hours, low pay, and minimal benefits.

4. Artisans and Craftsmen
They are the skill person but with low wages workers. Their role is to create traditional goods like pottery, carpets, jewelry, and textiles.
They preserve India’s rich cultural heritage while contributing to exports.

5. Migrant Workers

In search of employment people have to migrate to other big and metropolitan cities so that they get better opportunities . They
travel to cities or other states for employment in industries or domestic work. They suffer with issues like face housing issues, job insecurity, and exploitation.

Initiatives for Their Welfare:

Government Schemes: Initiatives like MGNREGA (Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act) provide employment and social security.

NGO Efforts: Many organizations work to improve labor conditions and provide skill training.

These laborers deserve recognition and support for their indispensable role in India’s growth story. Empowering them through fair wages, better working conditions, and education is essential for a more inclusive and equitable society.

Our Indian army and Border security forces (BSF)

Every youngster in his life must dream of joining the Indian army and serve the nation but joining the defence forces requires so much dedication with physical strength.
The lives of the Indian army and Border security forces ( BSF) personnel are marked by immense challenges, sacrifices, and hardships. They serve the nation demands resilience, discipline, and a selfless commitment to duty .

A. Extreme Working conditions :- If we are asked to go for a walk in 2°C , we generally hesitate or directly neglect to go but just imagine if the temperature is around -60° C what should you do. Our Soldiers often work in remote areas with extreme climates. For instance – Siachen Glacier ( The World highest battlefield with temperatures dropping to -60° C , Deserts of Rajasthan ( Scorching heat exceeding, Dense forests and so on . Dealing with oxygen scarcity in high altitudes.

B. Long separation from families

Living in such harsh conditions away from families with not certainly about life. They live their families for months , missing out on all important family moments like festivals , birthdays and anniversaries.
Our Soldiers are facing threats from militants and terrorists particularly areas like Jammu and Kashmir.
Our BSF personnel on the India- Pakistan and India – Bangladesh borders regularly deal with cross – border firing and smuggling activities.
Their physical and mental strength strains due to long hours of patrolling, maintaining combat readiness and survival in tough conditions.

Conclusion

Let us resolve this New Year to acknowledge and honor the contributions of our unsung heroes—the laborers, soldiers, and security forces who sacrifice their joys for our well-being. Through awareness, organized tributes, and genuine respect, we can build a society where everyone feels valued and celebrated. Wishing you a Happy New Year 2025 filled with compassion and gratitude.’
